"Use your head, wear a helmet"...

Seen along the road to the factory. Nice mix of common sense & humour...

Some good news from Chennai :
1. Last monday, ZE Bullet number AB653820K was delivered : 350cm3, a large and gorgious navy blue tank, shiny chrome protections, break & tool box on left side, gear pedal on the right (1st gear up, next 3 gears down). Sounds better than a Harley! Bought to wear out the asphalt on the panoramic road to Pondycherry - the ECR (East-Coast Road).
2. I found a flat against every expectation. 2 bedrooms, 1 balcony, 1 terrasse on top floor of a 3-floor building, close to the sea with a nice evening breeze. To furnish it I had to find a tissue shop (for the sofa ensemble), what took some time, but was easily solved thanks to "Fabindia" : a firework of colour combinations, textures, styles,... in an old british photo studio, this is a place you have to know when you come to Chennai and that you don't want to leave once inside!
3. I found also a sailing club called RMYC (Royal Madras Yacht Club!) hosting lost of optimists, lasers, enterprise...and two 420!!! They organise regatas every sunday (in the harbour...) & have a pleasant annexe with canopi along the beach where parties are organized by members. Hopefully more sport that socializing.
4. Veer-Zaara : one more Bollywood, the story of Veer (Indian male) & Zaara (Pakistan female), a bit long moovie, but very romantic & wonderfull music. Two fantastic actors : Shah Rukh (...Khan) and Preeti Zinta (~). They bring the magic...

I started during my holiday in Trivandrum to read "The City of Joy" about a Kolkata slum through the terrible story of a rickshaw driver (Hasari), of a polish-french priest (Kowalski) & an american doctor (Max Loeb). Written in the late 70s by D. Lapierre, it is exactly reflecting the indian life of the poor, like I could perceive it during my first months' stay through observations, discussions with drivers, etc. Awfull anecdotes of blood, foetus,... in one word human traffic. But also a message of hope...reading going on...So strange to read in english an originaly french-written book!

I will be landing in Paris on sunday, 19th for about 2 weeks. Hope to see as many of you as possible during this Paris stay! Keep in touch...
